While his tenure at the Gateshead Thunder, he caught the eye of the Crusader RL coach. He was transferred shortly with the team. There he played 29 games with 11 tries and 44 points.
Nick ended his rugby career after playing for the Castleford Tigers. There he played for 40 games and had 29 tries from which he scored 120 points. He scored his last try at the home game against Catalan Dragons.
For his career outside rugby, he has been a successful model since 2006. In 2006, he rose to fame after he posed nude for the Naked Rugby League Calendar 2007-2008. He has been hired by the agencies such as Ford Models and DT Model Management and has also been the face of designer fragrances Paco Rabanne.
Currently, he is the brand ambassador for the Paco Rabanne Perfumes and also an ambassador for the Team for Kids, which raises money for the youth programs through marathons and more.
