60-year-old Jayne Torvill is an England born ice dancer. In 2000, Jayne was appointed as the Officer of the Order of the British Empire. At the 1984 Winter Olympics, she and her skating partner Christopher Dean won a gold medal. The pair has skated together for 45 years.
The 2018 iteration of the Winter Olympics saw Mirai Nagasu become the first American woman to land a triple axel, while 17-year-old snowboarder Red Gerard won the first gold medal for the U.S.
Many have assumed that the pair to be more than partnership but the two are just great skating buddies. Torvill is happily married to husband Phil Christensen and has two adopted children with him, a son Kieran and a daughter Jessica. The family of four resides in East Sussex, England.

At the age of 18, Torvill partnered with Dean who was also in his teenage years. The pair impressed all with their flawless moves on ice and chemistry with each other. Even though Jayne admits that she fell for Chris at the first sight, and Chirs once confessed that the two had kissed on a coach trip to a skating event, both of them have declared that they have never been involved romantically.

In a talk show titled Life Stories hosted by Piers Morgan, she revealed that her first pregnancy was ectopic and she had endured IVF treatment to become pregnant. After being encouraged by a fellow skater, wife Jayne and husband Phil made the decision to adopt Kieran and Jessica, who are now 15 and 11 years old respectively.
While her partner Dean had his share of unsuccessful marriages before settling in with former Dancing On Ice judge Karen Barber, whose on-air spat with Dancing on Ice judge Jason Gardiner became the talk of the town, Jayne married life with husband Phil is going on strong till the date.
Jayne started ice skating at the age of 8 and participated in skating championships when she was just a teenager. In 1971, she and her former partner Michael Hutchenson became the British National Pairs Champion.
In 1975, she partnered with Dean who was a policeman. The pair won the fifth place in the 1980 Winter Olympics held at Lake Placid.
In the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympics, the pair skated in the music of Maurice Ravel's Bolero. The outstanding performance won them the gold medal. In 1994 the two again participated in the Winter Olympics. In that event, they won the bronze medal.
In 1998, Torvill took her time off from skating. After 5 years of gap, she appeared on the reality ITV show Dancing on Ice.
