Michael's father introduced him to Jamie Catto, ex-Faithless members through him he met Andrew Phillips, writing partner, and established a connection with IE Music label. At the age of 16, he performed for the first time under the band name Passenger but the band broke up in 2009.
Rosenberg moved on after the break-up and started busking for a solo music career starting in Australia in 2009. He earned wide appreciation and big breakthrough on his solo album, Wide Eyes Blind Love in 2009.
