As a child, Paul Rodgers was a bassist. Later he got interested in vocal and became the lead vocalist of the local band The Roadrunners. He also sang for the local bands like Micky Moody and Bruce Thomas. He co-formed the English rock band Free in 1968 where he served as a lead singer and songwriter.

Free's debut album, Tons of Sobs

With the formation of the English rock band Free in 1968, they began working on their debut album and their debut album, Tons of Sobs was finally released on 14th of March 1969. It didn't make to the chart in the UK. 

1973

Formed the band, Bad Company

Though English rock band Free was one of the biggest-selling British blues rock, this band disbanded in 1973 and then Paul Rodgers formed the band Bad Company that year. Free's band mate drummer Simon Kirke was also the co founder of this band.
