1996

Began playing golf

Paula was an athlete since she was child. She was active in acrobatic dancing and gymnastics as a child. However, later she became more interested in golf and then at the age of 10, she began playing golf. 

1998

Won 13 consecutive regional junior events

Within two years after she began playing golf, she won several junior events in Northern California. It is also said that she won 13 consecutive regional events. As a top ranked top-ranked female junior golfer, she joined IMG Academy in 2000.

2003

Was named Player of the Year by the AJGA

After she joined IMG Academy, she also took part in several amateur events. As an amateur player, she became the champion of 19 national tournaments. In 2003, she was also named as the Player of the Year by the AJGA. 

2004

Became professional player

In 2004, she took part in LPGA Tour's ShopRite LPGA Classic and she was second placed in this tournament. She also turned professional golfer that year. At the end of 2004, she also became the champion of LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament.

2005

Joined LPGA Tour

In 2005, she joined LPGA Tour and she has been participating in this event since then. Few months later she also won the the final hole of the Sybase Classic by one stroke. She also made a record that year for being the youngest winner of a multiple-round tournament.

2014

Married to Derek Heath

From the start of 2013, she was seen with Derek Heath. After being in love with him for about a year, they got engaged on 16th of December 2013. They finally got married in 2014. They are still bonded in this married life. 

2010

Got a left thumb injury

She was displaying an exceptional game in LPGA Tour since she joined them. She broke several records and she also made history in this tournament. However, with the start of 2010 she got a big blow in her career, she got left thumb injury. It is said that she got this injury since June 2009.
