Peter Dinklage is an American actor and film producer. Since his breakout role in The Station Agent (2003), he has appeared in numerous films and theatre plays out of which his role as Tyrion Lannister in The Game of Thrones set his remarkable step in Hollywood.
Peter Dinklage was born as Peter Hayden Dinklage in Morristown, New Jersey, the United States of America to John Carl Dinklage and Diane Dinklage. He was born with achondroplasia, a similar form of dwarfism. He is an American and is of German, English, and Irish descent.
Dinklage made his film debut in the low-budget independent comedy-drama Living in Oblivion (1995) where he performed alongside Steve Buscemi. The following year he appeared in the crime drama Bullet starring rapper Tupac Shakur.
He further appeared in the 2007 British comedy film Death at a Funeral, reprising the role in the 2010 American remake. He played Trumpkin in the 2008 film The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. The movie was a box office disappointment.
He portrayed Tyrion Lannister in HBO's fantasy drama Game of Thrones, an adaptation of author George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire novels in 2011. The series proved to be a commercial success; it has been renewed for multiple seasons and will conclude with its eighth season in 2019.
