Twelve Gemini Award winners, Peter Mansbridge is an English-Canadian broadcaster and news anchor. Currently, he is a chief correspondent for CBS News and anchor of The National, CBC Television's flagship nightly newscast.
He was born in London, the United Kingdom to his parents, Stanley Harry Mansbridge and Brena Louise Mansbridge. His father was a D.F.C. honored RAF Wing Commander. He has two brothers named Paul and Windy. Regarding Mansbridge's nationality, He holds both British and Canadian nationality and is of white ethnicity.
Previously, a ticket agent for Transair at Churchill Airport in Churchill, Manitoba, Mansbridge, in 1968, was discovered by Gaston Charpentier, a station manager for the local Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) radio station CHFC and hired him.
Mansbridge moved to Winnipeg in 1971 and worked for CBW radio station followed by his work in CBWT-TV as a reporter in 1972. On May 1, 1988Mansbridge debuted as the sole anchor of The National and later served as co-anchor for CBC Prime Time News from November 1992 to Fall 1995.
In 1999, he launched a new program, Mansbridge One on One, where he interviews newsmakers. Mansbridge became the longest-serving active anchor of Lloyd Robertson of CTV National News with his retirement on September 1, 2011.
On July 1, 2017, he stepped down from anchoring The National since his appointment in 1998. In May 2018, he came out of his retirement to co-host CBC's coverage of the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The former couple Peter and Parm have two daughters: Pamela Mansbridge and Jennifer Mansbridge together. The couple separated with a divorce after several years of relationship in 1975.

On January 6, 1989, he got married for a second time to CBC colleague Wendy Mesley, after a few years of a love affair. She is a Canadian television host and reporter. They called off their marriage and got divorced in 1992.
Again, After six years of his second divorce, he got married for the third time to Cynthia Dale, a Canadian television actress, and stage performer. They got married on November 14, 1998, and have shared a son William, born in 1999. They are still together.
