Peter Theophilus Eaton Padnos, better known as Peter Theo Curtis is an American journalist, born on 23 October 1968, in Atlanta, Georgia, the United States. He was born to the parents Michael Padnos and Nancy Curtis.

Got Kidnapped

In October 2012, he entered to Syria with an intention of writing an article about abducted journalist Austin Tice but unfortunately he got kidnapped there. He was imprisoned to a Syrian-run prison. For his release, his family got ransom request of 3-25 Million Dollars

He started his career as a tutor, where he taught poetry to prisoners of a local jail in Vermont. Based on this experience he published a book named "My Life has Stood a Loaded Gun". Then he migrated to Yemen and continued writing under the pen name Theo Padnos. There he studied Islam at Dar al-Hadith.
