Just a couple of days ago Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their first child, a baby boy, and the royal couple has chosen a name for the newborn royal baby.
They have named their son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. The couple took to Instagram on Wednesday, May 8, to reveal the name of the latest addition of the family.
The statement read,
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are pleased to announce they have named their first born child: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. This afternoon Their Royal Highnesses introduced Her Majesty The Queen to her eighth great-grandchild at Windsor Castle. The Duke of Edinburgh and the duchess’ mother were also present for this special occasion.
The Duchess of Sussex revealed in October 2018 that she and her husband had picked several names after their first royal tour together.
During an informal Q&A in Melbourne, Australia, the Suits alum, 37, told a group of students at the time,
We’ve been given a long list of names from everyone. We’re going to sit down and have a look at them.
The new bundle of joy, who was born on 6 May, joins Prince William and Kate Middleton's three kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis who they welcomed in April 2018.
Harry and Markle married at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on May 19, 2018.
