After leaving home, he had to sleep on benches. Later he started wrestling to control his anger. While he visited Czechoslovakia with his friends, he bought a guitar and thought to sell it so that he could get a nice profit. Nevertheless, when he returned to East Germany, he was asked by a girl to play guitar and when he was playing harder the girl got more excited about it and thinking that the girls love guys who play guitar, he started playing guitar every time for the next two years. This is how he got interested in playing guitar.
Because of the boring music environment, he moved to East Berlin. As he was alone there, he lived in an apartment for 2 years with a drum kit and a guitar making music all day and exploring music. He was even sent to jail once because while he was riding the subway before the fall of the Berlin Wall, he found himself above ground in the middle of a political demonstration. Later after the fall of the Berlin wall, he moved to back east of Berlin, Germany.
His band Rammstein was formed in 1994. He is also associated with other bands including Orgasm Death Gimmick, First Arsch, and Marilyn Manson. He is at the age of 49 years and holds German nationality and ethnicity.
Kruspe was married to his ex-wife Caron Bernstein in 1999. They separated in 2004 after filing for a divorce and their divorce was finalized in 2006. He has a son named Khira Li Lindemann (born February 28, 1910) with a lady who was previously married to Rammstein lead singer Till Lindemann. He also has a son Merlin Esra Besson (born 10 December 1992). And his third child Maxime Alaska Bossieux is with Margaux Bossieux. According to Caron, Kruspe’s affair with Margaux was also the reason for their divorce.
