Problems started after Gretchen Carlson, former Fox Channel correspondent, filed a sexual harassment suit against Fox News CEO Ailes on July 6, 2016. Carlson’s contract with her network expired a few days back.
Gretchen Elizabeth Carlson, an American television commentator, and an author has crowned the 1989 Miss America while representing her native state of Minnesota.
53 years old Carlson has been fully supported by her husband Casey Close, a former major league baseball player. The two have been married since 1997 and have two children together.
Carlson stated on her decision to file a lawsuit:
“I have strived to empower women and girls throughout my entire career. Although this was a difficult step to take, I had to stand up for myself and speak out for all women and the next generation of women in the workplace. I am extremely proud of my accomplishments at Fox News and for keeping our loyal viewers engaged and informed on events and news topics of the day.”
But further problems arose for the Ailes' family when six more women came forward with their complaints of sexual harassment against Ailes. Three of the accusers were models at the time of the alleged incident, a TV producer, a media consultant, and a Republican National Committee field adviser.
All these allegations must be causing quite turmoil within the family. Even though nothing has come up to public notice, it is only evident that when seven women accuse one’s husband of sexual harassment, the wife is sure to be contemplating divorce soon.
The former Fox News CEO, Roger Ailes died on May 18, 2017, in Palm Beach, Florida, United States. He died of subdural hematoma.
His death news was confirmed by his wife on the same day.
