On 19th of September 1959, Roman got married to Barbara Kwiatkowska-Lass. Barbara Kwiatkowska-Lass was an actress from Poland. They dissolved their married life within three years.
In 1967, Roman starred on the movie, The Fearless Vampire Killers. Beautiful and sweet lady Sharon Tate was also an actress in that movie. They began their love affairs within short period of time and they finally got married 20th of January 1968. However, on 9th of August 1969, she was murdered.
In 1976, he had relationship with Nastassja Kinski. Nastassja Kinski is an actress and model. But this relationship lasted only for short period of time and she also claimed that relationship as ridiculous.
On 30th of August 1989, he got married for the third time in his life and that was with actress, singer and fashion model, Emmanuelle Seigner. As a married couple, they also welcomed two children together.
Roman was expelled from his primary school for being a Jewish children and he was also denied to enter into the class for the next six years. Though he suffered a lot being a Jewish child, he never changed his childhood dreams about acting and then in 1953, he made his acting debut and that was in the movie, Trzy opowieci. In 1962, he directed his first feature film and it was titled, Knife in the Water.
