Before he landed a job in ESPN, Ryen hosted The Die Hards with co-hosts Anthony Pepe, John Anik, Kevin Winter, and Mike Winn for the Sporting News Radio. He worked there till 2005 and then he did pre-game and post-game commentary for the New England Patriots on WBCN.

While working for New England Patriots, Ryen had a personal conflict with John Dennis of WEEI and it may be the reason why he was let go. But that didn’t stop him from pursuing what he wanted to do. Well, maybe he was destined to join ESPN Radio. Ryen got an opportunity to host multiple shows for ESPN Radio and he did a fantastic job there as well.
