While Sam was in Otterbein College, he met love of his life Amber Marie Mellott. Amber Marie Mellott is also an actress. After seeing each other for several years, they decided to enter into the new stage of love life and they got married on 25th of August 2007. As a married couple, they have also been parents once.
Like acting Sam was also talented in his studies. He was one of the best students of Perrysburg High School and he graduated from there in 1995. Soon after his graduation, he joined Otterbein College. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 1999. For few months, he took the job in casting office and made his acting debut in 2000. That year he starred the role of Bill Kelley in the TV series The West Wing. In 2001, he appeared in the action war movie Behind Enemy Lines where he portrayed the role of Red Crown Operator. His breakthrough role came in 2002 when he appeared in the thriller drama movie, Hart's War playing the role of Capt. R.G. Sisk. His net worth is expected to be in millions.
