She started her career at WIN Television in 1999. After working there for three years, she then joined Sky News Australia. There, she was a chief political reporter.

In 2016 Samantha Armytage was replaced as host of UNHCR lunch with Kristin Davis after the Sex and The City-themed skit on Sunrise with Davis backfired.

Actress Davis went there to discuss her work in UNHCR but Armytage was accused that she only focused on the movie Sex and The City, featuring Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall.
