Nadell always wanted to pursue his future in computer science but later turned his passion towards electrical engineering. Satya is currently the CEO of Microsoft. He previously served as Executive Vice President of Microsoft's Cloud and Enterprise group.
Before holding position of CEO, until 4th Jan 2014, Satya worked on other different post such as President of the Server & Tools Division, Senior Vice-President of Research and Development for the Online Services Division, Vice-President of the Business Division, Corporate Vice-President of Business Solutions and Search & Advertising Platform Group and Executive Vice-President of Cloud and Enterprise group.
Nadella issued an apology after giving his statement to the question asked at the Grace Hopper Celebration, in a technical conference taken by a woman on October 9, 2014. The controversy was created regarding gender pay gap.
Nadella who is originally from India bears an American nationality and Telugu Indian ethnicity. Satya's wife Anupama is the daughter of his father’s batchmate K.R. Venugopal. The family has a relation of about 30 years. The couple together has three children and the family is living in Bellevue, Washington.
Nadella is now 48 years of age, As a CEO of the one of the largest organization of the world, in 2016 he received a salary of $5.66 million and a bonus, more than double $12 million. His current net worth is around $84 million.
