Owing to her father's work, she and her family had to relocate to Mexico where she stayed for four years.
In Mexico, she attended the American School Foundation, and later in America, she attended the Pennsylvania State University from where she graduated with a degree in the field of marketing.

After her graduation, she moved to New York in pursuit of a career in journalism, which led her way to the CBS Page Program. After spending some time with the page Program, she was offered a position to work with evening news programs.
