In 2005, Shim got married to Sang Wook Ji. Sang Wook Ji is a Civil Engineer and he holds Doctor's degree from Tokyo University. He is also the famous Korean politician. As a loving spouse, they have already welcomed two sweet daughters together. Beside this married life there is no any information about her extra love affairs.
Shim's acting career began after she was recruited by the MBC. She made her acting debut in 1993 on the television series, Three Families Under One Roof. She played her first feature film in 1995. She reached the highest peak in her career after she portrayed the role of Kim Da-rim in the 1998 movie, Christmas in August. Though she got acclaimed within short period of time, she decided to quit acting and she retired from acting in 2001. Her net worth is expected to be high.
