In 1992, Sofia met Spike Jonze. Spike Jonze is also of the same profession like her. They began their love affairs few years later and then they got married on 26th of June 1999. And then at the end of 2003, they end their married life and she later revealed that it was one of the tragic things in her life.
In 1999 when she was directing The Virgin Suicides, she met love of her life Thomas Mars. Soon after she dissolved her first married life, she began dating him and they also welcomed two daughters before they got married on 27th of August 2011.
After graduating from St. Helena High School, Sofia joined Mills College and the California Institute of the Arts but she decided not to continue on her education and then she began her own clothing line called Milkfed. As her father was the movie director, she began her acting career since she was child. She made her acting debut in 1972 and that was from the movie, The Godfather. For the next decade, she began appearing in several movies directed by her father and then in 1984, she appeared in Frankenweenie which was directed by some other director. She began her directorial career since 1998. The real figure about her salary is unknown, however, her net worth is said to be around $20 million.
