Sonji Roi was married twice. She married her first husband Muhammad Ali on August 14, 1964. Thye first met each other in July 1964, the same year Ali won his first heavyweight championship. Ali proposed to her and after that, they got engaged and finally got married. Their marriage ceremony was held in Gary, Indiana, United States. The couple was together for 2 years but they didn't have any children. The couple couldn’t continue their marriage further and they got divorced in 1966, just after the 2 years of marriage.

After then Roi got married to her second husband Reynaldo Glover who was an attorney by his profession. The couple happily lived after their marriage but they didn't have any children. She died at the age of early age of 59, on October 11, 2005, because of cancer.
