Christopher James Berman, known also by his nickname boomer and his alter ego “The Swami”, is an American sportscaster. Born in Greenwich, Connecticut on May 10, 1955, he graduated from Brown University, where he was the sports director of the school’s radio station, WBRU.

He started his career as a sportscaster, as an anchor for sports center on ESPN on 1979 and is the longest employed caster and most valued employee in ESPN, but now his life with ESPN is coming to an end.

Net worth

Chris Berman’s net worth presently is $18 million, which is no shock for the guy whose salary is $3 million a year. His main source of income is from anchoring and hosting shows in ESPN. He hosts more than one show in ESPN alone and for other channel like ABC. He is currently the 7th highest paid sport caster all around the world. 

He is anchoring or hosting many shows such as Sports Center, Sunday NFL Countdown, NFL Draft, U.S. Open nightly show, NFL Primetime, ESPN Sunday Night Football, Baseball Tonight, MLB on ESPN among others.

He has been in this field for 30 years and is famous for his many catchphrases and his expressive and passionate way of sport casting using his whole body, facial expressions, hand gesture and high voice. And because of his quirky demeanor, he has gained a lot of fans over the years as a sportscaster. 

His Real State in Hawaii

Chris grew up in New York but now he resides in Maui, Hawaii. He owns a beachfront home near Lahaina, a quiet undeveloped area. The area has no hotels, fast food restaurants or buildings over two stories tall. This area is mostly famous for its tropical getaway offering kayaking and snorkeling and its real state is most expensive in Hawaii. 

Despite the high price of real estate, Berman’s mansion in Maui has four bedrooms, five bathrooms and panoramic views from the balconies, covers an area of 4,320 sq. feet. He has spent a handsome sum of money on this mansion, making everything perfect and furnished well.

Apart from making money by hosting, Berman has also made some earnings from appearing in some movies. He made his debut in the movie industry in 1988 appearing in Water boy. There after he played as himself in The Longest Yard, Necessary Roughness, Little Big League, Eddie and Kingpin. He has also done come commercials with Nutrisystem using his trademark phrases and nicknames.

Berman also does guest appearance, grand opening, product announcement, motivational keynote speech for which he charges $50,000 to $100,000. Chris Berman also worked for NBC as a sportscaster and analyst for which he was paid a massive salary of $5 million per year.
