Stephen King was born as Stephen Edwin King on September 21, 1947, in Portland, Maine. He is the son of father Donald Edwin King, a merchant seaman, and his mother's name is Nellie Ruth. King is of American nationality and his ethnicity is white.
Talking about his education, Stephen attended Durham Elementary School and later enrolled at Lisbon Falls High School, Maine, from where he graduated. King also attended the University of Maine, from where he received his bachelor's degree in arts with a major in English.
