While Tamika was in Duncanville, Texas, she played for Duncanville High School. There she was also listed in the WBCA All-American. She also played for WBCA High School All-America Game. In 1997, she joined Tennessee Lady Volunteer’s basketball and played there till 2001 as an All American. Though she suffered an ACL injury in 2001, she had an impressive year in 2002. She joined Indiana Fever in 2002 and she is still playing for them but in between this time she played for several clubs like Chuncheon Woori Bank Hansae, Spartak Moscow, Lotos Gdynia and Galatasaray.
