The Big Bang Theory breaks the Record as the Longest Running TV Show

American television sitcom The Big Bang Theory, created by writers Bill Prady and Chuck Lorre made television history for being the longest running tv show completing its 276th episode.

The CBS TV show commenced their filming of the 276th episode this week, which makes it the longest running multi-camera show.

The show featuring Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco has now surpassed another American sitcom Cheers, with their 275 episodes.

The show premiered first time on TV on 24th September 2007 and is in its twelfth and final season run this year.

The show is centered around the lives of sci-fi loving friends, played by Jim Parsons, Simon Helberg, Johnny Galecki, Kunal Nayyar, Kaley Cuoco, and Mayim Bialik.

The show has won over 52 Emmy nominations and multiple awards over the years.

The show's popularity has attracted many popular science guests on the show like late Stephen Hawking, Bill Gates, Bill Nye, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, and many others.
