The Grammy Award-winning singer Toni Braxton split with her husband Keri Lewis a few years back. They ended up their marriage after twelve years. Toni Braxton opened up about all the suffering she passed through in her life and how helpless she felt when she saw her children in one of the interviews she gave. She told that the main reason for her decision to undergo plastic surgery was an abortion she had in the past.

She once had a powerful acne medication Accutane, used to treat harlequin-type ichthyosis - a lethal skin disease, which was clinically linked to causing serious side effects to a fetus.

I am not really embarrassed about it, I am more ashamed of myself for doing that because I could've figured something out financially. That was just an excuse I was making for myself.

Braxton added.

Toni really loves her boys Diezel Ky Braxton-Lewis and Denim Cole Braxton-Lewis. She regrets more about the abortion she did because her son Diezel was diagnosed with Autism, a mental condition present from early childhood, which affects communicating with other people. She feels as if it is the way of God, punishing her.

Toni Braxton and Keri Lewis got separated in the year 2009, and their divorce was finalized in July 2013. In October 2012 at the VH1 Behind the Music special, she revealed that her marriage with Lewis wasn't working the way she had thought of and needed to have a new start without Lewis. 

She said,

I had to figure out a plan for my life that has nothing to do with him. I was angry with everybody. I couldn’t believe this was happening to me. I felt that I was a person dealing with a lot of struggles and here comes another one.
