Tony Finau is an American professional golfer who, at the present time, plays on the PGA Tour. He is best known for being the athlete to make more money by finishing second than the winner Xander Schauffele at the WBC-HSBC Champions.
Milton Pouha Tony Finau was born on the 14th of September, 1989, in the Salt Lake City, Utah, to father Kelepi Finau and mother Ravena Finau. He has a brother named Gipper Finau and is the cousin of NBA basketballer Jabari Parker. He is of American nationality and his ethnicity is mixed, belonging to both Samoan and Tongan descent, which makes him the first ever athlete of such ancestry in the history of Golf.
Tony Finau is the winner of the 2006 Utah State Amateur Championship, which he did by defeating Daniel Summerhays. Even though Tony was offered a scholarship in basketball, he rejected it to pursue his passion in golf and turned professional at 17. Soon enough he started appearing in mini-tour like The National Pro Tour, NGA Hooters Tour, and Gateway Tour.
