Troy Dean Shafer, The ‘Nashville Flipped’ Host, Dies At Age 38

Harty Condolence! Troy Dean Shafer, the famous television personality best known for hosting Nashville Flipped, has died. He was 38.

The DIY Network’s restoration series' host passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on April 28. His brother, Tim N. Shafer, confirmed his death to TMZ on Wednesday, May 8.

He told the outlet that the family was shocked by his passing as his brother had no medical conditions.

Shortly after his death news emerged, the DIY Network released a statement on Wednesday to pay tribute to him.

The statement reads,

The DIY Network family is sorry to hear about the passing of Troy Dean Shafer, a dedicated, driven entrepreneur and restoration expert who was admired by everyone who worked on the series Nashville Flipped. We continue to extend our deepest condolences to Troy’s family and friends during this difficult time.

According to his obituary, his faith was a very important part of his life. Troy was an avid golf player and loved spending time with his pets: a cat and two dogs.

He had become married to his best friend, Becky Haynes. He started hosting the show in April 2017.

In addition to his wife and brother Tim, Troy is survived by his parents Timothy Shafer and Janet Shafer; one niece, Samantha Shafer; and "several aunts, uncles, and cousins."
