Vassy Kapelos was born on May 6, 1987, in Toronto, Canada, to Canadian parents. She was raised along with her two siblings; sisters Zo Kap and Sha bale Ngu.
She once said that her parents were self-made and incredibly hardworking. Her father was a lawyer in Toronto. She is of Canadian nationality and belongs to white ethnicity.
She completed her graduation with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario in 2004. Later in 2006, she graduated with a Master of Arts degree from Dalhousie University.
Career
Vassy Kapelos started her career as a video journalist at Southwest TV News IN Swift Current, SK, and later headed to Saskatoon and Edmonton to do political journalism; she joined Global Television Network as a legislative reporter.
She was also an anchor for Global Television Saskatoon there. She worked for the network from October 2008 to April 2010.
She then worked as a Reporter/Anchor for Global Television (AB) in Edmonton and Calgary from April 2010 to December 2013.
Kapelos has also worked as the Provincial Affairs Reporter for both Global Calgary and Global Edmonton. She covered issues that affected the province, focusing on politics.
In 2013, she was a member of the reporting team for the series Code Red. She won the 2013 Edward R. Murrow Award for Best News Series for her performance in the series.
Kapelos Global to join CBC News Network in February 2018, and ever since she has been hosting the CBS program, Power & Politics.
Kapelos also currently works as a Parliamentary Correspondent at Global National Ottawa in Canada.
