Today, we’ll be talking about Video Game Commentator Evan Fong who has a jaw-dropping net worth of $5 million. He earned so much by just playing video games and posting about it on his channel. According to reports, Fong earns $300,000 a month from his videos.

Evan Fong says TV has nothing interesting once you are into gaming

Fong is a 22-year-old enthusiastic lad who has 11 million subscribers on his YouTube channel named ‘VanossGaming’ and altogether 2 billion views. He is part of the young generation’s subculture who are quitting TV in order to go online and watch other people play and talk over and about video games.

In an interview, Fond revealed why a huge mass of people are into YouTube videos over TV. He says that TV doesn’t really have anything that interests you if you are really into gaming. He also says that the viewers really like the genuine content from regular people just playing games because they can find it relatable.

Evan Fong success wasn't expected by him

Although Fong has found massive fame at present, he hadn’t really expected to get paid to play video games. He started his channel in 2011 but didn’t really give much focus on it in the beginning. Fong says that even a 1000 views, in the beginning, made him really excited.

He further says:

"It took, I would say, about a good year and a half (to start becoming popular). It started really slow and I didn't take it really seriously. It wasn't something that I strived to do to the best of my ability like I do now."

Evan Fong didn't get his parents' supports in the beginning

Fong didn’t really get support from his parents who knew that he was going goon on his YouTube channel because it’s not a guaranteed path in real. That’s why Fong chose to drop out of his University once he became enough successful.

We all admit that Fong is really popular on YouTube, but there’s always a high risk of failing and crashing at any time. He also accepts it by himself saying that anything that’s on the internet can blow up and go away.

It’s pretty impressive to see how viewing habits have changed compared to the past. The young generation chooses to watch what really makes sense to them. It’s quite striking to see how gamers have successfully developed a huge fan base in YouTube’s world which was less expected to happen. We wish more success to Evan Fong in upcoming days.
