Wilfork started his career at the University from where he played for the Miami Hurricanes football team. He maintained the Miami indoor school record in the shot put until Isaiah Simmons surpassed it in 2013.
During his freshman season, Lamar Wilfork played as a defensive tackle with a score of 41. In 2003 he made his high tackles, 64 as well as 20 quarterbacks. He earned his victory making it his last in Miami as he decided to enter the 2004 NFL Draft.
After the first three games of 2010 as a nose tackle, he moved back as a defender, and played four games in seven weeks against Miami Dolphins. In eights week, again he started to play asa nose tackle. He played the same position against Minnesota Vikings and continued and for all future games.
