Vine star Alx James opens up about being gay and confirms his relationship with Justin Hughes

Alx James came out as gay in an emotional video posted on his YouTube page last year. Then he finally went on to reveal who the lucky guy for him was - Justin Hughes

“I have waited two years for me to finally come out,” Alx said. “And then, I guess the next step was to find a boyfriend. That was worthy enough to show you guys. Obviously, I have dated guys, but I haven’t shown any to you. Because I didn’t feel like they were worth showing you at all. That has now changed.”

So it does seem like this duo is going on seriously.

On being asked where the couple met, Justin said, “I saw him at the gym, I thought he was cute. And sexy. So I submitted my resume.”

In the 14 minute YouTube clip, James recounts the resentment he felt towards his parents growing up in the closet and discusses coming out in the context of his Christian faith. This particular video of his has been watched almost a million times by his fans and followers. Some deemed it inspirational whereas some told him it was very courageous.

“Don’t let someone tell you who you are. You know who you are and it’s okay to be who you are. My advice to anyone who is struggling with their sexuality and they are a believer in Christ – don’t let it stray you away from your faith. Don’t let the church tell you that it’s not okay to be who you are. Because it is. God does not make mistakes and God does not give you anything that you can’t handle. He doesn’t. Then earlier this year, Justin followed his suit and came out honestly about his sexuality.

“Being completely honest- talking about being gay and my experience is kind of difficult for me. Not cause I had negative backlash, but because of me and how I'm wired- becoming comfortable with yourself doesn't happen overnight and I'm still working on it. Making this was very helpful and therapeutic because this was the first time I really talked about it from start to finish.”- Justin Hughes

With more than 8.1 million fans and 2 billion loops on Vine, Alx is a famous social media personality. He has 918 thousand followers on Instagram and 416 thousand on Twitter. On the other hand, boyfriend Hughes has only 38 followers on Vine and 12.4 k followers on Twitter.

This duo came came clean about their affair. Alx has even admitted to previous breakups with other partners he dated before Hughes. But none of them have said about their past girlfriends, if they had any.
