Wang Jianlin is a Chinese business magnate, philanthropist, and investor, known for founding the conglomerate company Dalian Wanda Group, China's Largest Real Estate Development Company. He was born on October 24, 1954, in Cangxi County, Sichuan, China. He is the son of Wang Yiquan and mother Qin Jialan. He is Chinese by nationality and belongs to Han Chinese ethnicity.
Jianlin began his career working as the Office Administration for the Xiang District in the city of Dalian. Later, he became the General Manager of Xigang Residential Development and also became the Head of Factory in a Jiangyin-based factory.
After that, he worked as the Chairman for the Dalian Wanda Group and been serving as Assistant to the Regional Manager and director in Jiangsu Water Co.
The company grew fast owning a massive investment property of 21.57 square meters. The company also bought 82 luxury hotels, 99 departmental stores, 168 Wanda Shopping Plazas, 54 karaoke centers, and 213 cinemas in China.
Then, in 2014, he opened Mini-Hollywood that was released in China. Many Hollywood celebrities, Kate Beckinsale, Leonardo DiCaprio, and John Travolta also attended the launch of Wang mini-Hollywood which was worth $8 billion to be built.
In 2014, he gets land at 9900 Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills California to make the American headquarters of his entertainment company.
Wang, then declared plans to get Dick Clark production for about US$1 billion, giving the broadcasting rights to the Golden Globe Awards. He also ownsLegendary Entertainment, co-producer of movies, like Jurassic World and US cinema AMC Entertainment Holdings.
Likewise, at the age of 15, Wang began his 17-year service with the People’s Liberation and he joined the Communist Party of China and also served as deputy to the 17th National Congress.
Later, Wang went as a delegate to the National People’s Congress and also performed as the vice-chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce.
Wang is known for his charitable causes as he donated $197 million to various charitable institutions and also an active supporter of the Communist Party of China.
