After their marriage, Anjana did Diploma in journalism from Jamia in 2002 and started her journalism career in 2003 with Doordarshan program Aankhon Dekhi. In the following year, she joined the Zee News for a desk job.

She worked for Zee for about five years before joining the News 24 in 2007. Anjana then shifted to Star News before joining Aaj Tak. Her debate show Do Tuk, on News 24 is considered as one of her most influential work.
