Wil Willis is an American veteran and currently a TV host and an actor. Willis is best known for being the judge in the reality show Forged in Fire, and Triggers: Weapons That Changed the World.

Wil Willis was born into a military family on February 13, 1975. He grew up in the military bases all over the US and lived there until his father’s retirement in 1991. He has not disclosed the name of his parents and is the only child. Willis is an American by nationality and his ethnicity is white.

Soon after graduating from high school in 1993, he enlisted in the army at the age of 18, serving with the army's 3rd Ranger Battalion on active duty for a period of 5 years between 1993 and 1998.

Wil Willis became an active-duty air force pararescueman after that and remained so until March 2007. He also enlisted in year-long reserve duty with the American Air Force from August 2007 to August 2008.

Willis started his on-screen career in 2009 with Special Ops Mission under the call sign Whiskey Whiskey. The American reality television series, which premiered on August 13, 2009, on  Military Channel (now American Heroes Channel), featured Wil Willis performing solo special-ops missions against groups of operatives from opposing forces (OPFOR) largely consisting of regular and special operations veterans.

In 2011 Wil started out with Triggers: Weapons That Changed the World, which premiered on American Heroes Channel. The show had Wil Willis testing different iconic weapons, ranging from muskets and pistols to assault rifles and rocket-propelled grenades. He has been credited for his acting Beerfest (2006), starring Cloris Leachman.

Along with displaying the weapon’s ability, Willis also examines their historical significance. Mike Tristano, a renowned, fully licensed master armorer with over 25 years of experience, provided most of the weapons featured on the show. 

Beginning from 2015, Willis has appeared as host in the program Forged in Fire, on History Channel. Produced by Outpost Entertainment, a Leftfield Entertainment company, every episode of the series features four bladesmiths competing in a three-round elimination contest to forging bladed weapons. The winner of the show takes home $10,000 and the day's championship title.
