Rupert, who recalls his first dream in life was to be an ice cream man, started his acting while in school; he took part in small plays and dramas in school.

Rupert was 11 when he was asked to play the role of Ron Weasley for the Harry Potter series.

On August 2000, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and an 11-year-old Rupert Grint were selected to play the roles of Harry, Hermonie, and Ron. It was his debut screen performance.
