Alexandra Patricia Morgan is an American football player, Olympic gold medalist, and FIFA Women’s World Cup champion. She plays as a forward for Orlando Pride in the National Women’s Soccer League, and the United States women’s national soccer team.

She was born on July 2, 1989. She began playing soccer at the early age of 14 for Cypress Elite. With the team, she won the Coast Soccer League under 16-championship.

She attended the University of California, Berkeley, where she played for the California Golden Bears from 2007 to 2010. She finished her college career with a total of 45 goals, and 107 points for Golden Bears.

On January 14, 2011, Morgan was the overall pick in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. It was her first professional debut and helped her team win the league Championship.

Morgan was just 22, the youngest player on the national team when she played for the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup where her team won silver.

After her contract with Western New York Flash, she joined Seattle Sounders Women in 2012. Morgan made three regular-season appearances for the club.

Alex Morgan is known for scoring the match-winning goal against Canada in the 2012 London Olympics. The ball hit the nets at the 123rd minute of the semi-final.
