American chef, television personality, and author Anthony Michael Bourdain or professionally known as Anthony Bourdain died at the age of 61. Bourdain’s close friend Eric Ripert found him unresponsive in his hotel room in Strasbourg, France.

Bourdain is found dead in his hotel room and of a suspected suicide. During his last days, he was working on a shoot for his series “Parts Unknown” on CNN.

The cable network confirmed the news of his death and wrote: It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain.

It was back in 200o when Bourdain hit the spotlight with a best-selling book called Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly where he described his experiences with drugs including LSD, heroin, and cocaine.

Bourdain has always been busy and has traveled more than 250 days of the year to film his show. Bourdain's busy schedule is said to be the main reason behind his marriages and relationship failures.

In 2002, Bourdain’s first TV show “A Cook’s Tour” on the Food Network aired and three years later, he joined the Travel Channel with “Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations” picking up two Emmy Awards.

Bourdain then moved to CNN with a new travel and food show named Parts Unknown in 2013 and is in its 11th season.
