Virginia Cathryn “ Gena” Rowland   is a famous American, film, stage and television Actor. She was  on Virginia Cathryn Rowland in Madison Wisconsin. In early 1950, she performed with repertory theatre companies and at the Provincetown Playhouse. The seven year Itch and toured in a national production of the play. She married to the John Cassavetes (1954-1989).

Her Husband John Nicholas C Cassavetes was working in the entertainment industry. He is an actor, film director, and screenwriter. His early years were spent in Greece; when he spoke no English. He attended Port Washington high School from 1945 to 1947. In 1956, he had begun teaching an alternative to method acting in his own workshop in New York City. Cassavetes was unable to get distribution American distribution of Shadows. 

He had been working on B-pictures. He was noticed for the vicious Killer in The Night Holds Terror and as a juvenile delinquent in the live Tv drama Crime in the Street. He is not a gay. He was married to the Gena Rowlands. The couple had three children Nick Cassavetes, Alexandra Cassavetes, and Zoe Cassavetes.

He died from cirrhosis of the liver on February 3, 1989, at the age of 59.

She has guest appeared on anthology television series as Robert Montgomery Presents, Appointment with Adventure, Kraft Television Theatre, and Studio One, She appeared alongside husband Cassavetes on an Episode( “Fly Baby, Fly”) of the 1959-60 NBC detective series Johny Staccato. She has appeared on the  on an episode of the NBC western series, Riverboat , starring Darren McGavin, at the ABC  adventure series, The Islanders, set in the South Pacific. Rowlands made her film debut The High Cost of Loving.

Both the couple had a great pairing in movies.  They both appeared in ten movies, A WomaN Under the Influence, Gloria which was nominated for the Academy Award for best Actress. She also won the Silver Bear Best Actress for Opening Night. John Cassavetes net worth is around $40 million dollars.
