Arie Luyendk Jr. was born on September 18, 1981, in the Netherlands to his parents Arie Luyendk and Mieke Luyendyk. His father is one of the popular Dutch auto racing drivers. While he was three years old, his family moved to the United States and settled in Brookfield. He grew up along with his siblings Alec Luyendk and Luca Luyendk.
Arie Luyendyk began his career as a car racer and has participated in several car race tournaments. At the age of 16, he joined Sports Car Club of America and Formula Ford competition. Later he became the winner of Skip Barber Formula Dodge series and was placed in the top 5 of U.S. Formula Ford 2000 Championship. He was also placed in the Formula Continental class at the SCCA National Championship Runoffs at No:3 positions.
In the same year, Luyendyk became the winner of SCCA Southern Pacific divisional title on the strength of 4 wins in the same class. He also participated full-time in the first three seasons of the Indy Racing League’s Indy Pro Series, where he had one victory, four pole positions, and 24 top-5 finishes.
After sometime Luyendyk was qualified for the Indianapolis 500 taking a car owned by Curb-Agajanian-Beck Motorsports during IndyCar Series. In the ollowing year, he was selected for the 2006 Indianapolis 500 taking a car of his father, Arie Luyendyk, and backed by cheapcaribbean.com and Blue Star Jets. He also drove for the A1 Team Netherlands in the A1 Grand Prix World Cup of Motorsports as the group's ''rookie driver'' during the 2007-2008 A1 Grand Prix season.
Later Luyendyk returned to the Firestone Indy Lights Series to race for AGR-AFS Racing along with Raphael Matos. Similarly, he also competed in Traxxas TORC Series of the Stadium Super Truck Series, where he was placed in the 4th position at Crandon International Off-Road Raceway driving the Pro Light class.
Luyendyk is an American by nationality and belongs to white ethnicity. He began dating his girlfriend Sydney Stempfley. The duo first introduced over Instagram and after few meetings, they became an official couple. However, the couple was unable to continue their relationship for a long time and they separated. Currently, he is possibly living a single life. He is not yet married and doesn't have any child.
