After his successful amateur wrestling career at Bismarck State College and the University of Minnesota, Brock signed a contract with WWE in 2000. After that, he won the WWE Championship and became the youngest champion in history to win the title.
He also became the 2002 King of the Ring and the 2003 Royal Rumble winner. Following his match with Goldberg at WrestleMania XX, he left the WWE and started a career in the National Football League. Later he became a defensive tackle for the Minnesota Viking.
In 2005, Brock returned to wrestling and made a contract with New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) and won the IWGP Heavyweight Championship in his first match. After a contractual disagreement with NJPW, he also played in the Inoki Genome Federation (IGF) as IWGP Heavyweight Champion.
In 2006, Brock started his career in mixed martial arts (MMA), as he made a contract with Hero's. He won his first fight, against Min-Soo Kim, in June 2007. After that, he wrestled in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in October, where he lost against Frank Mir and then won his second fight against Heath Herring. Similarly, he defeated Randy Couture to become the UFC Heavyweight Champion in November 2008.
Brock underwent surgery for diverticulitis in 2011. He again joined UFC 141 in December, losing to Alistair Overeem and promptly retiring from MMA. He also served as a box office sensation in UFC.
In April 2012, Brock re-joined wrestling, for WWE. After a couple of years, he defeated The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX. He also achieved world champion status two times. He has also won the WWE Championship in 2014 and the Universal Championship in 2017.
Brock is an American and belongs to white ethnicity. He married his girlfriend, Rena Greek, on May 6, 2006. The couple lives on a farm in Maryfield, Saskatchewan. Before this, he lived in Maple Plain, Minnesota. The couple blessed with two sons Turk and Duke. Similarly, Brock has twins: a daughter Mya Lynn and a son Luke with his fiancée, Nicole McClain.
