Carl Lentz is an American citizen is an American Pentecostal pastor and the senior pastor of Hillsong Church New York City. He and his wife Laura Lentz, who he married in 2003, are the founders of the Hillsong Church.
Early Life, Education & Career
Carl Lentz was born on November 6, 1978, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, the United States of America. He is currently 32 years old.
He attended North Carolina State University from 1998 to 2000. There, he was a walk-on basketball player for the school’s men’s basketball team.
Carl later moved to Los Angeles where she studied at The King’s College and Seminary. While in college, he used to work part-time at a Gucci shop on Rodeo Drive.
He was then transferred to Sydney, Australia where he attended Hillsong International Leadership College of Hillsong Church.
During his time at Hillsong, he met Joel Houston, the son of Brian Houston, a pastor in the American Christian Churches. He was 20 years old at the time. The two had a brilliant idea of starting a campus of Hillsong Church in New York City.
Carl Lentz completed his graduation with a degree in theology from Hillsong College in 2003. He then returned to his house to Virginia Beach, Virginia, where he was appointed as a youth pastor.
Following his graduation, Carl co-founded Hillsong Church in NYC in 2010.
