Caroline Wyatt was born in 1976 in Darlinghurst, Sydney, Australia. She was adopted by a Swiss-born Polish mother and Anglo-Irish British Diplomat father. She has two other brothers as well. 

1991

Start of career in BBC

In 1991, Caroline Wyatt started her career in BBC. Her career was based on current affairs and news and she was news and current affairs trainee. She also worked for a radio program 'Newsroom South East.'

2003

Career

Until 2003, Caroline worked as the BBC's Moscow correspondent in Russia. She completed her current affairs and news training in 2000. In 2003, she became the main reporter in Paris network. 

2007

Upgrade in career

In October 2007, Caroline became the defense correspondent of the BBC. While working there, she also reported as one of the most popular news of American bombing campaign in Iraq.

Diagnosed

In 2016, Caroline was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, which affected her vision balance badly. Later in early 2017, she had to undergo Autologous Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant in Mexico.

Caroline was adopted by a Polish mother who was Swiss-born and Anglo-Irish father who was a British Diplomat. She was born in Darlinghurst, Sydney, Australia. She has two brothers as well. She studied at ‘Independent Convert of the Sacred Heart School’ in Woldingham, Surrey.

Later, she studied German and English at Southampton University. Later, she joined in the six months study at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. After graduating from Southampton, she did her post-graduate diploma at City University, London in Print Journalism.

In 1991, Wyatt started her career in BBC as news and current affairs trainee. She worked at the local station in Birmingham and for another radio "Newsroom South East." Between 1993–2000, after completion of her training, she started her career as the business reporter in Germany. Later, she became the Bonn correspondent on the Rhine River.

Until 2003, she became the BBC’s Moscow correspondent in Russia. And in 2003, she became Paris network’s main reporter. Again in October 2007, Wyatt became the defense correspondent of the BBC and reported American bombing campaign in Iraq. Then after seven years, in 2014, she switched to religious affairs. Later in 2016, she quit her job at the BBC. However, she continued her radio presenting for BBC Radio on the Radio 4 network.

Back in 2016, Caroline diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), which had already affected her vision and balance. In an interview, she once explained her struggle with MS; she said, "You forget words, you forget names. It’s that absolute sense that your body is betraying you."  In 2002, a doctor diagnosed her with Clinically Isolated Syndrome (CIS), which later proved to be misdiagnosed.

In early 2017, she took the risk to have Autologous Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (AHSCT) in Mexico, which was set to cost €62,000. After several months of treatment, she revealed that her problem had somewhat better but some other symptoms of migraines have worsened. Moreover, it would take least two years to know if HSCT has worked for her. For now, she is just battling and hoping for the best.

In several interviews, she has revealed that her work with his life is significant for her than her family. She also said that she once couldn’t attain one of her ex-boyfriend’s birthday party because of her busy schedule.        

As she was ready to spend tremendous money on her treatment, we can assure that she earns a healthy sum of money. An average news Correspondent’s salary in BBC ranges from $96K to $130K excluding the allowances. Other famous BBC journalist like Chris Evans earn between £2,200,000 - £2,249,999, Graham Norton earns somewhere between £850,000 - £899,999 and Jeremy Vine earns £700,000 - £749,999. This explains that Caroline also must have made somewhat similar.
