Gustaf started his career at a very young age, at 9 Gustaf acted in a Swedish Film – Codename Coq Rouge, after going to the Teaterhogskolan in Stockholm from 1999 till 2003. He joined the Royal Dramatic Theatre and did many theatrical written by Shakespeare, Chekhov, and Soderberg on stage in Stockholm. In 2003 he played a role in a movie named Evil which was liked by many and was one of his critically acclaimed work of Skarsgard which got him nominated for the Guldbagge Awards as Best Supporting Actor for the first time.
Later, Gustaf was in a relationship with actress Hanna Alstrom since 1999 till 2005. Gustaf won the Guldbagge Awards for Kidz In da Hood also the European Film Academy’s Shooting Stars Award in 2007. Finally, he received the prize as Best Leading Actor for his role in Forortsungar. In 2012, Gustaf joined the History Channel’s series Vikings in the role of Floki as the shipbuilder.
