She began her broadcasting career from hard rock radio station as a disc jockey. She then joined WNDU-TV. After earning her undergraduate degree, she joined KNCN-FM where she worked as a disc jockey. In 1988, she worked at WCNC TV 36 as a weekend sports anchor. She then joined CNN in 1989 and began hosting the show, CNN Sports Tonight. She has been working at ESPN since 2008.
