GLAAD announced that they will be honoring the power couple Beyonce and Jay Z, by presenting them the Vanguard Award for their unfaltering support towards the LGBTQ community, at their upcoming GLAAD Media Awards.
GLAAD, who work for the rights of lesbian, gay, transgender, bisexual and/or queer announced on 11th March 2019, Monday that Jay Z and Beyonce will be honored at their forthcoming award function this March.
The award is presented to individuals who have made a significant difference in promoting acceptance of LGBTQ people.
Previous recipients of the awards are Cher, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, Jennifer Aniston, Charlize Theron, and Patricia Arquette.

Beyonce is a long time supporter of the LGBTQ community while Jay Z will be receiving the GLAAD Media Awards for the second time in a row.
Prior to this Jay Z received a Special Recognition Award for his single titled Smile, from the album 4:44, which deals with the revelation that his mother, Gloria Carter was, in fact, a lesbian.
The GLAAD Awards will be handed out in ceremonies held in Los Angeles and New York, on March 28 and May 4 respectively.
