Jim Daly was born on 22nd July 1961, in  Alhambra, California, the United States. Regarding his nationality, he is an American and he belongs to white ethnicity.

At the teenage of 15, Jim Daly attended a camp, which was run by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and get the opportunity to experience a Christian conversion.

Jim Daly raised in the Southern California. While Daly was nine, his mother died of cancer as well as abandoned by his alcoholic father. As he became orphan, he placed in a foster home.

While he was young, his father passed away being an alcoholic. At the time, he was in high school and was living on his own.

At the age of 15, while Jim was attending a camp run by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, he experienced a Christian conversion. He enrolled at "California State University," San Bernardino, and received his Master of Business Administration from "Regis University."

After completion of his study, he began working in the paper industry until he recruited to join Focus on the family. At Focus, he worked for sixteen years in different positions including an assistant to the president for the Public affair.

Further, as the Vice President of the International Division, and a Group Vice President under Secretary of the Interior, Donald P. Hodel and U.S. Secretary of Energy, before promoting to the presidency.

He refers himself more of an evangelist than a prophet. Daly states that he wishes to make abortion rarer as a step toward eliminating it.

As a host, Jim Daly worked on a radio alongside John Fuller, which reached an estimated 220 million listeners worldwide. Throughout his hosting career, he has interviewed Christian leaders and prominent guests including former US President George W. Bush, Chuck Colson, Dave Ramsey, Jerry Jenkins, Roma Downey and many others.

Daly appeared in TV programs like ABC World News Tonight, Fox and Friends, American Live with Megyn Kelly and Larry King Live.

Daly has received various prestigious awards for his social works. His first award was “World Children’s Center Humanitarian Award,” which he won in 2008. In the following year, he received “Children’s Champion Award." He is also the recipient of “HomeWord Family Ministry Award."
