John was born in Liverpool, England to father Alfred Lennon and mother Julia Lennon and he was raised in his birthplace along with his siblings and friends.

After his successful career as a singer and musician, John Winston was featured in a concert show, The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus which was organized by the Rolling Stones.

John and his wife Ono returned to their Manhattan apartment in a limousine at around 10:50 p.m, after an evening at the Record Plant. They walked out the vehicle, walked archway of Dakota when lone gunman Mark David Chapman shot Lennon four times in the back at close range and he died.

John began his career in the skiffle craze while he was a child and formed his first band, the Quarrymen. He also co-founded an English rock band, The Beatles. He along with band member Paul McCartney also formed a most popular songwriting partnership. He also worked with Ringo Starr, an English drummer, singer, songwriter, and actor. 

Later John started to record a solo artist, and he recorded two songs, Give Peace a Chance and Instant Karma before the band's break-up in April 1970. He subsequently produced numerous albums and songs including Working Class Hero, Imagine and Happy Xmas

John has contributed a total of 25 number-one singles on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart as a writer, co-writer, or performer. John was also posthumously inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1987. Similarly, he was twice inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, in 1988 as part of the Beatles and again in 1994 as a solo artist.

Later John was voted eighth in a BBC poll of the 100 Greatest Britons. He had also given the title the fifth-greatest singer of all time by Rolling Stone; an American biweekly magazine gives priority to popular culture. His solo album had sold more than 14 million units in the United States till 2012

John was British by nationality and belongs to white Ethnicity. He married his long-term girlfriend, Cynthia Lennon, after dating her for sometimes. The couple was together for six years, and they got a divorce. After he divorced his first wife, John started dating his new girlfriend, Yoko Ono. He lived together with his wife for 11 years and he died on 8 December 1980 on 8 December 1980, at the age of 40, in Manhattan, New York, United States. He had two children: Julian Lennon and Sean Lennon
