In 1996, Macy got married to Tracey Hinds. Tracey Hinds is an assistant director and he also worked as a miscellaneous Crew. From this love life she also became parents three times. They got divorced in 1998.
After her high school graduation, Macy got enrolled at University of Southern California. There she studied scriptwriting. She wrote songs for her friends but that vocalist was unable to record that song and then she began working with Joe Solo. She wrote several songs with him and they also recorded several of them. She began singing at jazz cafés and she signed a recording contract with Atlantic Records but she was soon dropped out by this label. However, in 1998 she finally singed a recording deal with Epic Records and her debut album, On How Life Is was finally released on 1st of July 1999. It is also the best-selling album of her as 3.2 million copies of this album was sold worldwide. She has also been active in acting since 2000. That year she appeared in the TV series, Ally McBeal. Her net worth is said to be around $38 million.
