Megan Anna Rapinoe is an American professional soccer midfielder/ winger playing for Seattle Reign FC and U.S. Women’s National Team. Besides Seattle Reign, Megan has also played for teams like Olympique Lyon, the French women's soccer club, and Sydnee FC, an Australian women's soccer club.
Rapinoe helped the U.S. win gold at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup and 2012 London Olympics and silver at the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup. She also was part of the US team that won the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2015.

Megan was born in Redding, California, on July 5, 1985, to father Jim Rapinoe, and mother Denise Rapinoe. She was born as the youngest among 6 children of her parents with her fraternal twin sister Rachel Rapinoe, who is also an American soccer player.
She began her training from an early age with her father, and also played with the south side of Elk Grove Pride in 2002. In 2005, Megan also played for the University of Portland.

Megan began her professional career in 2009 as she started playing for Chicago Red Stars. Later, she joined American women's soccer clubs such as Philadelphia Independence, Magic Jack, in the 2011 season.
In October 2011, Megan signed with the Australian soccer club Sydney FC as a guest player. Megan joined fellow national team members Hope Solo, Sydney Leroux, Alex Morgan, and Stephanie Cox to play with the Seattle Sounders Women for the summer of 2012.
In January 2013, Megan signed with the French women's soccer club Olympique Lyon for six months for a reported salary of $14,000 a month. She made her debut for Lyon at the UEFA Women’s Champions League of the 2012-2013 quarter-final against FC Malmo. Megan finished her time with the team with 8 goals in 28 matches during her stay.

Rapinoe came out as a lesbian on July 2, 2012, in an interview with Out magazine. She also revealed her relationship with Australian football player Sarah Walsh. Megan and Sarah ended their relationship in 2013, after five years of togetherness.
She then dated Sub Pop recording artist Sera Cahoone. The pair announced their engagement in August 2015. Rapinoe started in January 2017 that their wedding plans were on hold.
Later, on July 20, 2017, Rapinoe and Seattle player Sue Bird confirmed that they had been dating since the fall of 2016. We assume that the pair will get married soon.
