Lori Stokes is one of the most commended news anchors on WABC-TV, the flagship station of the ABC Television Network. She has been known to be a “rating enhancer”. Popular co-anchor of Eyewitness News, she has become one of the best news anchors for WBAC-TV who has hyped the market ratings for the network.

53-year-old Stokes has become one of the favorite news anchors of North Carolina and New York with almost 30 years of experience in news covering.

 

Stokes began her journalism career when she was 24. In 1996, she became the first African-American to be broadcasted on MSNCB. Bold and beautiful Stokes was one of the first anchors in MSNBC franchise. Some of her popular News shows were MSNBC Today and MSNBC Sunrise.

In her three-decade long career, she has had many highlights. She covered Columbine High School Massacre, the death of John F. Kennedy, terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, Northeastern Blackout of August 14, 2003, and many such important and historical events.

She also is a member of Jack and Jill of America. It is an organization founded in 1938 under the leadership of Marion Stubbs Thomas with the idea of bringing together children in a social and cultural environment. This organization primarily serves Black children from the ages of 2 to 19.

She is also involved with the Food Allergy Initiative, serves as a member of the board of trustees at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center Foundation, Bergen Performing Arts Center and St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Patterson, New Jersey.

Although having been divorced, she has a great relationship with her two daughters and even her ex-husband. 

She was married to Brian Thompson. He is an NBC reporter. The pair had an affair after they met during their job interview for CBC affiliate WBTV, Charlotte. They got married after two years of dating.
